The band was formed in October 1998 by singer Andy B. Franck. He created the name Symphorce as a play of words, a mix of symphone and force. It was a few months later, in 1999 that they released their first album Truth to Promises on Noise Records. The release had them touring as support act for Mercyful Fate.
